One Question Google has no answer to.

It all started with this question, “what question does google not have an answer to?”.

Several participants tried to give logical answers to this question but then they could only try to answer Olaitan’s question. Well, except for a young lady who sat far away from me, towards the back of the hall, she gave a humorous answer to Olaitan’s question. And I’m sure you’re wondering what her answer was, right? Well, you’ll find out soon.

So I came across the Google-powered program, FUEL FOR YOUR HUSTLE on WhatsApp status update of one of my contacts and it was scheduled to take place in Abeokuta and Ibadan. I must confess, WhatsApp is actually a great tool for creating awareness for your events. That’s by the way. I saw the media poster on WhatsApp whilst in Ibadan so I decided I would attend that of Ibadan. I registered online using Google form a day before the event and was expecting a confirmation mail or ticket after the registration but I didn’t get any of that. I didn’t let that deter my strong motivation to attend the program.

I woke up early enough on Thursday, 4th of July say around 6 am. I live far away from the venue so I had to start my preparations early enough as well. Plus, the event was to commence at 9 am. This is where I became uncomfortable. I got there before time and I saw a long queue at the venue. These were people who had also come for the same event I was here for and I could only stand there trying to hold back my pee. Mind you, I drank a lot of water before leaving my place and so my bladder was crying out for help at this point. Long story short, I got in line, I got my ticket, walked into the hall, secured a seat, found the restroom and I relieved myself with so much joy.

I am sure you’re still wondering what the answer to Olaitan’s question was. You will find out soon enough

Olaitan mentioned a number of things which are very key for the modern-day entrepreneur and this had to do with making sure your business has an online presence. He started off by mentioning something called “Google my business listing” which is what allows some businesses to pop up when you do a search (link to Google my business: https://www.google.com/intl/en_ng/business/). Next, set up social media accounts for your businesses depending on what you do and your target market. Then you should run an ad express on Google my business, this enables your business pop up when someone does a near me search of a particular business sector. There are also steps to take so your business gets verified when you register with Google My business to gain some level of an online presence. An online presence can also be enhanced by creating your own e-commerce website with Google my business. My highlight was the Google platform that lets you learn digital skills free with certifications (link: https://learndigital.withgoogle.com/digitalskills). I had no idea Google had such a great tool. As the saying goes; Learning never ends.

Funke Akindele Bello came in with rousing applause from participants while Olaitan and Tutu were introducing us to new ways Google can help FUEL YOUR HUSTLE. Funke was the first of the two guest speakers to deliver her speech. It was a bad leg day for her and so she had to sit down to give her talk. Funke emphasized PASSION as the fuel for every hustle and she did this by letting us into the early days of her acting career. How she was always going for auditions and was always ending up as an extra at the end of the day. She still didn’t give up but she just kept at it because she was very much passionate. And this passion took her from every day extra to the big brand she has been able to create today. She mentioned how Google was able to help her at every point in time when she was trying to build her brand. How she learnt to write a proposal on google because Mr X wanted to charge X amount of money for her ignorance. How her make-up artiste learnt how to make her look like a man in one of her scenes from YouTube, basically because she wanted to hire a professional to do that for her for that scene. She admitted that Google is her friend and has been a great part of building her brand. Therefore, make Google your friend.

With a deafening scream and enthusiasm from participants, Fela Durotoye, the second speaker at the program was introduced. He is a well-known motivational speaker and so he had a lot to pass across. But I’ll just mention a few things. Fela described hustle as something that shouldn’t stress you but should rather stretch you. Something you do with ease i.e. TALENT. He went on to say it is something you’re naturally comfortable with. You shouldn’t change who you are but you should be who you are for the world to come to you i.e. PERSONALITY. Then Love your Hustle i.e. PASSION. Whatever you do with passion will always be different. These three according to Fela are key to fueling your hustle but then he didn’t leave the place of PURPOSE behind. He also hammered on making an impact or leaving a good memory on the person next to you at every point in time as this is one of the reasons why he has a voice today. This story about making a positive impact and how it gave him his first big platform is something everyone should listen to but I’ll give you an abridged version.

Fela Durotoye was given his first big platform because the life of someone else was positively affected by his Professor Father. Fela never knew this person but when he introduced himself as Durotoye to this person, he was treated warmly and was informed of how his dad (Fela’s dad) had positively affected his life and somehow this led to Fela’s first big platform.

Your HUSTLE should solve a PROBLEM which in turn adds VALUE to the society, this generates WEALTH and ultimately leads to PROSPERITY. To wrap it all up, he said INFORMATION is the greatest fuel for your hustle, rather than say “I don’t know”, seek to know, make google your friend. Rely on God for revelation and rely on Google for information

So my brothers and sisters, can Google tell you the day rapture will take place?

You now have the lady’s profound answer to Olaitan’s question.
